Sorrowful Loss in My Family
On December 22nd, 2015, my brother called me in tears to say that
he had found his oldest son, Braden, unconscious and not breathing. He called paramedics and they were unable to revive him. At 28, he died of a suspected drug overdose. Braden had been battling addiction for at least 12-15 years. He had so many opportunities that my brother, Tom and sister-in-law, Sharon worked so hard to give him. The very sad truth is that he just could not overcome his demons. He was a sweet boy who just couldn't get it right in life. Here is the program from his memorial service that was held on January 16th, 2016.
